The Future of Fashion: Hanifa's 3D Fashion Show
Fashion world goes digital this summer with contemporary brand Hanifa. Congolese designer Anifa Mvuemba sets a new tone for the industry with the very first ever 3D live model runway. Not only did she deliver an elite fashion show with no physical models, she was sure to create digital designs that were very realistic to the average woman body and shape. Making sure to show curves and definition with each graceful strut. Her line appeals to all body shapes and sizes. Pink label is her most expensive line yet; inspired by her home country.
“With a digital model you’re determining the measurements and what would cause the model to look most realistic," Anifa says for Teen Vogue magazine. "Without real women to draw inspiration from there could be no 3D models to emulate our beautiful skin tones, curves, and walking patterns. For me the biggest challenge is making sure that the beauty we display in real life is well represented on the screen.”
It was very important to the Congo native to bring awareness to dilemmas taking place in her Central Africa country. The designer began her show with a documentary highlighting mineral site conditions and those affected by it. Using her platform for more than just fashion, Anifa took this opportunity to educate her audience on the issues women and children are facing in her country.
In a time where none of us really know what is next in this industry, Anifa’s innovative creations define a new standard for designers. Forcing them to think outside of the box. A design is more than just a garment it is a statement to the world expressing who you are as a designer, your voice! If you have ever attended a fashion show you may wonder why the designer doesn't make a grand speech or extensive exit after their show, the designs have said everything that needs to be said. Too many words will simply distract and cloud judgment. Anifa confirms the idea for her digital fashion show was thought of well before the world’s current pandemic. She truly desired to create something new and inclusive for all. As many may never experience a real fashion show, she gives her supporters an opportunity they may have never experienced otherwise by showcasing her designs on Instagram live!
After the fashion show went viral via Twitter and Instagram, Hanifa’s designs have been spotted on some of the hottest celebs such as Zendaya for Instyle, Claire Sulmers for Fashion Bomb Daily, etc. She has even inspired major brands such as Prada to go the virtual route for their collection release! There is no debate that this woman is on the way to the top of the luxury industry. Shop Hanifa.co for the Pink Label line.
